The weekly review is not a casual look at how the week went. It is a structured forty-five minute analysis session with a specific sequence of questions and a specific set of decisions that come out of it. Every Sunday evening, close the books, open the tracking notebook, and run through this sequence.
Record This Week's Six Metrics (5 minutes)
Write down the chapter PYQ accuracy for every chapter practised this week. Record the mock test score if there was one this week. Count the total wrong attempts from all DPP and PYQ sessions. Count recurring error log entries. Record questions attempted per section from the most recent mock. Sum the total question volume for the week. These numbers go in the tracking notebook in a consistent format so they can be compared week over week.
Compare to Last Week: What Improved, What Did Not? (8 minutes)
Look at this week's numbers against last week's numbers for each metric. For chapter PYQ accuracy, did any chapter that was below 65% last week cross 65% this week? For wrong attempt rate, did it decline or stay flat? For recurring error count, are fewer specific error types recurring than last week? Write one sentence per metric: improved, flat, or declined. Do not interpret yet. Just compare and label.
Identify the Three Most Important Findings (7 minutes)
From the comparison labels in Step 2, identify the three findings that most deserve attention next week. These are typically: the highest-priority chapter that is still below accuracy benchmark, the most frequent recurring error type in the error log, and the metric that showed the most unexpected movement this week — either a positive surprise that deserves reinforcing or a negative surprise that deserves investigation. Write these three findings explicitly. They become the three driving priorities for the following week's plan adjustments.
Check Subject Time Balance (5 minutes)
Review the total practice time across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from the past week. Compare the time each subject received against the subject's current accuracy gap. If Physics is receiving 40% of practice time but its mock test score is the strongest of the three subjects, time is being over-allocated to Physics at the expense of the weaker subject. Identify any subject that is receiving less time than its current performance level warrants and write a specific rebalancing decision for next week.
Set Three Specific Targets for Next Week (10 minutes)
Based on the three findings and the time balance check, set three specific, measurable targets for the following week. Not vague intentions like "improve Physics" but specific data targets: "bring Current Electricity PYQ accuracy from 62% to 70% through two targeted 15-question sessions" or "reduce recurring calculation errors from 6 instances this week to 3 instances next week by applying unit-writing habit in every DPP session." Write these three targets at the top of the next blank page in the tracking notebook. Review them at the start of every day next week.
Make One Plan Adjustment and Write It Down (10 minutes)
Every weekly review should produce exactly one concrete change to the following week's schedule. Not zero changes — which means the tracking is not driving action — and not multiple changes simultaneously — which makes it impossible to attribute any subsequent result to a specific change. Write the adjustment: what is changing, why it is changing based on the data, and what metric will confirm it worked in next week's review. Rolling Average Rising but Chapter Accuracy Flat
Mock scores are improving but not because chapter accuracy is improving. Check whether the improvement is driven by better exam strategy — more questions attempted, fewer wrong attempts — or by a lucky question set. If strategy is improving, that is a genuine signal and should be reinforced. If question sets have been easier, the rolling average will revert when difficulty returns. When a specific error type appears repeatedly in the error log for six or more weeks without declining, the error has become a habit rather than an isolated mistake. Habit-level errors are not fixed by awareness alone — they require targeted drill practice specifically designed to interrupt the automatic wrong pattern and replace it with the correct one. Identify the top two recurring error types, design a specific three to five question targeted drill for each one, and repeat that drill daily for two weeks.
