Which one should I pick? It depends on your Hindi course. In CBSE, Course A usually uses Kshitij with Kritika, and Course B uses Sparsh with Sanchayan. Ganga is a newer NCERT Hindi book, so if your school has moved to it, start there. When in doubt, ask your Hindi teacher.

Hindi is a scoring subject when you prepare well. Class 9 builds the reading, writing and grammar skills that the Class 10 CBSE board exam tests, so the work you do now makes Class 10 lighter.
Your school exams set questions from the prescribed NCERT books: textbook lessons, poems, the supplementary reader and grammar. Knowing the writer, theme and main message of each lesson helps you answer both short and long questions.

How to Study Class 9 Hindi From NCERT: 5 Practical Tips
- Read each lesson aloud once. It improves your pronunciation and helps you remember key lines.
- Learn the writer and theme. For every lesson and poem, note the writer, the main idea and one key line.
- Explain poems in simple words. Write the meaning of each stanza in your own Hindi. This is how poem questions are answered.
- Practise grammar weekly. Sandhi, samas, muhavare and sentence correction need regular practice.
- Write one piece a week. Letters, essays and anuchchhed get better only with practice. Ask your teacher to check them.
Why this matters later: strong Hindi reading and writing helps in every exam that has long questions, and it keeps your overall percentage high in Class 10 boards.
