Why NCERT Class 9 Science Matters for CBSE Board Exams and Olympiads
Class 9 Science is the first step to Class 10 boards and, later, JEE and NEET. Atoms and molecules lead into chemistry, motion and force lead into physics, and cells and tissues lead into biology.
Science Olympiads test these same ideas with tricky application questions. NEET, in particular, is known for asking lines and diagrams straight from NCERT, so reading the book carefully from Class 9 builds the right habit.

How to Study Class 9 Science From NCERT: 5 Practical Tips
- Read, then close the book and explain. Try to explain each topic in your own words. If you get stuck, read that part again.
- Draw every diagram. Cell, tissues, atomic models and sound waves. Drawing them once helps you remember and score.
- Make a formula sheet for physics. Speed, acceleration, force, work and energy formulas on one page, with units.
- Solve numericals daily. Motion, gravitation and work-energy need practice, not just reading. Do five a day.
- Revise with in-text questions. The small questions inside each chapter are often asked in school tests.
Why this matters later: Atoms and molecules, laws of motion, gravitation and cells are the base of Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Strong Class 9 science makes JEE and NEET preparation far easier.
