JEE Main 2027 Admit Card: Download Link, Login Steps, Details to Check and Complete Exam Day Checklist
Your JEE Main 2027 admit card is the single most important document for exam day. Without it, no candidate is allowed to enter the centre, no matter how well the preparation has gone. This guide covers everything in one place: the expected release date, how to download the JEE Main hall ticket 2027 from jeemain.nta.nic.in, every detail you must verify, what to do if there is a mistake, the documents to carry, the dress code, and a complete exam day checklist.
All 2027 dates below are expected and tentative, based on recent NTA cycles. The official schedule usually comes with the information bulletin, expected between October and December 2026. Always trust the dates printed on your own admit card and the official NTA notice over any other source.
When Will the JEE Main 2027 Admit Card Release?
The exact date is not notified yet. Based on recent cycles, NTA usually releases the Session 1 admit card about 3 to 4 days before each exam date, in the second half of January, and the Session 2 admit card a few days before the April exam. Admit cards are often released in a staggered way, date by date, rather than all at once.
The table below shows the expected 2027 timeline built from the pattern of the last cycle. Use it only for planning. Confirm every date on the official NTA bulletin and your admit card.
| Event | Session 1 (Expected) | Session 2 (Expected) |
|---|---|---|
| City intimation slip | Early-to-mid January 2027 | Mid-to-late March 2027 |
| Admit card release | 3 to 4 days before each exam date (late January) | A few days before each exam date (early April) |
| Exam window | Late January 2027 | April 2027 |
| Download credentials | Application number + Password | Application number + Password |
| Takeaway: plan travel on the city slip, then download the admit card the moment it goes live for your exam date. All dates expected until the official NTA notification. | ||
How to Download the JEE Main 2027 Admit Card: Step by Step
The admit card is available only online at the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA does not send it by post or email. Keep your application number and password ready before you start.
Open the official site
Go to jeemain.nta.nic.in and click the "Download Admit Card for JEE (Main) 2027" link for your session.
Enter login details
Type your Application Number and Password. Enter the security PIN or captcha exactly as shown, it is case sensitive.
Submit and view
Click submit. Your admit card PDF opens on screen. Check every field carefully before printing.
Download and print
Save the PDF and take at least two clear printouts on A4 paper. A soft copy on the phone is not accepted at the centre.
Every Detail Printed on the Admit Card and How to Verify It
The moment your admit card opens, check every field against your registration and your ID. A small mismatch can cause a problem at the gate. Verify each of the following:
- Candidate name spelled exactly as on your photo ID
- Application number and roll number
- Date of birth and category (and PwD status if applicable)
- Exam date and shift timing for your paper
- Reporting time and gate closing time
- Full exam centre name and address
- Photograph and signature are clear and correct
- Paper details (Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech, or Paper 2A/2B for B.Arch/B.Planning)
- Exam day instructions and the self-declaration section
Admit Card vs City Intimation Slip: What Is the Difference?
Many students confuse the two. In simple words: the city slip tells you the city, the admit card tells you the exact centre and time. The city slip comes first so you can arrange travel and stay before the detailed admit card is out.
| Point | City Intimation Slip | Admit Card / Hall Ticket |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Tells you only the exam city | Tells you the exact centre, address and shift |
| Release time | Earlier (for travel planning) | Later (a few days before exam) |
| Login | Application number + Date of birth | Application number + Password |
| Entry to centre | Not valid for entry | Mandatory for entry |
| Takeaway: use the city slip to book travel early, and never treat it as your admit card. | ||
What to Do If There Is a Mistake on the Admit Card
If you find a wrong name spelling, wrong photo, wrong category or any other error, act fast. Corrections are handled by NTA, not by the exam centre on the day of the exam.
Use the NTA helpdesk
Call the helpline number and email the ID printed on the admit card and the official site. State your application number clearly.
Report immediately
Do not wait till exam day. Raise the issue as soon as you see it, so there is time to fix it.
Keep evidence
Save screenshots of the error and your registration details as proof for faster resolution.
Unclear photo
Carry two passport photos same as the uploaded one, and follow any photo-pasting instruction on the admit card.
Documents to Carry on Exam Day
Reaching the centre with the right documents is half the battle. Carry these, all originals, neatly in a transparent folder:
- Admit card printout (at least one clear A4 copy, keep two)
- One valid original photo ID: Aadhaar, PAN, passport, driving licence, voter ID or school/college photo ID
- One passport-size photograph, same as the one uploaded during registration (carry a spare)
- The self-declaration / undertaking form if your admit card asks for it, filled as instructed
- PwD certificate if you have applied under the PwD category and use a scribe
JEE Main Dress Code and Prohibited Items
NTA does not enforce a strict uniform, but it does restrict certain clothing and items for security. In recent cycles NTA has stated that footwear with thick or heavy soles and clothes with large buttons are not allowed. The safest approach is simple, light clothing.
| Category | Generally Allowed | Generally Not Allowed |
|---|---|---|
| Footwear | Simple slippers or sandals | Shoes with thick or heavy soles |
| Clothing | Light, full-sleeve or half-sleeve simple clothes | Clothes with big buttons or metal parts |
| Accessories | Nothing extra | Jewellery, watches, belts, caps |
| Devices | None | Phones, smartwatches, calculators, earphones |
| Water / food | Transparent water bottle; diabetics may carry sugar tablets and fruit | Coloured or labelled bottles, packed snacks |
| Takeaway: keep it plain and minimal. The prohibited-item list on your admit card and the invigilator's decision are final. | ||
Reporting Time, Gate Closing and a Realistic Exam Day Timeline
The exact reporting and gate-closing times are on your admit card. As a general pattern, the gate closes about 30 minutes before the paper starts, and late entry is not allowed under any condition. Build your day around reaching early, not just on time.
| Stage | What to do |
|---|---|
| 90+ min before | Reach the centre, locate your room, stay calm |
| Reporting time | Frisking, document check and biometric or photo verification |
| Gate closing | No entry after this, roughly 30 min before start |
| Before the paper | Read instructions, note rough-sheet rules, settle in |
| After the paper | Leave only when allowed; collect nothing you cannot carry out |
| Takeaway: treat the gate-closing time as your true deadline, and add a travel buffer for traffic. | |
Lost or Forgot the Admit Card? And B.Arch / B.Planning Notes
If you lose your printout, simply log in again at jeemain.nta.nic.in and re-download it, then take a fresh printout. The admit card stays available in your login through the exam window, so there is no need to panic. Keep the PDF saved in two places.
For Paper 2A (B.Arch) and Paper 2B (B.Planning), the admit card process is the same, but your shift, timing and centre may differ from Paper 1. Check your paper type carefully on the admit card, since B.Arch and B.Planning have their own drawing and planning sections.
