On 9 October 2026, Maharashtra announced that both attempts of MHT CET 2027 will be held after the Class 12 board exams. They were earlier planned for December 2026 and April 2027. As per reports, the first attempt is now expected around March to April 2027 and the second around May 2027, with about four weeks between them and the better score counted. The official timetable is still awaited on cetcell.mahacet.org.
If you are preparing for MHT CET 2027, the exam calendar just changed in a big way. Instead of writing the first attempt in December, in the middle of your board preparation, both attempts will now come after your HSC or CBSE Class 12 boards.
That is good news for most students, because you no longer have to split your focus between boards and the CET in the same months. But it also changes how you should plan the next six months.

What Changed in the MHT CET 2027 Schedule
MHT CET 2026 was the first cycle with a formal two-attempt structure. For 2027, the plan was to move the first attempt into December so students could take it before the boards. After feedback from parents, counsellors and educationists, that plan was reversed on 9 October 2026.

How the Two Attempts Work
- Two chances, one admission: you can use both attempts, and the better score is considered for admission, as per the announcement
- Same pattern both times: the paper pattern and syllabus are expected to stay the same across both attempts
- Short gap: with about four weeks between attempts, you will not have time to relearn chapters, only to fix mistakes and practise
- Separate PCM and PCB: each group writes its own paper in both attempts
